The farm story: Bali Blue Moon is grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Batur by smallholder farmers organized into Subak Abian — a centuries-old Balinese collective that coordinates water, land, and community. Farmed using organic methods (grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, though not certified organic). The Giling Basah processing gives the coffee its distinctive heavy body and low acidity, and the high-altitude volcanic soil adds the complex cocoa and dried fruit character you’ll taste.
Brew recommendation: Pour-over or drip at a 1:16 ratio, medium-fine grind. Also excellent in a French press for fuller body expression.
A hidden detail: The Giling Basah (wet-hulling) process is unique to Indonesia. It removes the parchment layer while the beans are still wet, which is why Balinese and Sumatran coffees have that distinctive heavy, syrupy mouthfeel unlike any other origin on Earth.
